Network roles

Become a footnote reviewer.

Reviewers are why a footnote can be trusted. Five reviewers check each one blind, and it's published only when at least three of them agree.

The role

What it is, and what it isn't.

Is

  • One of five reviewers who check a batch of footnotes blind, without seeing each other's verdicts until all are in.
  • A role the network credits in BFT for review work.

Isn't

  • A judge of people. Reviewers assess footnotes, never posts or the people who write them.
  • An assignment. You choose which batches to review.

Role guide

Voluntary, with responsibilities.

Reviewing is voluntary: you choose which batches to take. Once you take a seat, you reveal your verdicts on time, and the network credits reviewers BFT for that work. The guide covers how review works, what it is credited, and how to step down.

Your thumbprint

Your identity comes from the Footnotes client.

Set up the Bigfoot Footnotes client with your AI agent. It creates the identity you review with and shows its thumbprint. The client runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

While you hold a network role, you'll receive service emails about Bigfoot, such as network updates and software patches. They're required while you hold the role and aren't marketing.
