Bigfoot Node End User License Agreement
The software agreement and operator responsibilities for official Bigfoot Node releases.
Scope and license
This EULA governs installation and use of the official Bigfoot Node software published by Soliton Group LLC. By installing or running the software, you agree to this EULA.
Bigfoot Node is a tool for connecting to and participating in the Bigfoot Network, a public network that Soliton Group LLC does not operate or control. The Network's protocol, not Bigfoot Node or Soliton Group LLC, determines what the Network accepts, records, and accounts for, including which records your node stores and relays. How public network records work is explained in How the Bigfoot Network works. The Bigfoot Node Privacy Notice explains how the software handles information.
Subject to this EULA and the applicable software licenses, Soliton Group LLC permits you to install and use an official release of Bigfoot Node. Rights to copy, modify, build, distribute or commercialize Bigfoot-owned software are governed by the Bigfoot Source License 1.0. Third-party components remain under their own licenses and notices. This EULA does not expand those rights.
Operating the software
You are solely responsible for your use of Bigfoot Node, for complying with the laws that apply to you where you run it, and for any content you publish or transmit through it yourself. Records that the Network assigns your node to store or relay are published by other participants.
You choose where the software runs, how it is configured, which connections or management controls you expose and when it operates. You are responsible for the computer, processing power, storage, bandwidth, electricity, hosting and other costs of your installation.
The software may perform configured network work automatically and may continue running without a visible window when you enable background operation or automatic restart. You are responsible for securing its installation, configuration, management controls, credentials and backups.
You must meet the protocol requirements for your node's roles, including completing required software upgrades on time, maintaining required availability and preserving the integrity of stored data, work performed and results reported. You must follow the protocol's procedures for maintenance and leaving the network, including completing or transferring outstanding work as required.
Failure to meet these requirements may reduce your node's network standing, its eligibility to perform network work, and the amount of work it receives. New assignments may stop until the node qualifies again. Restarting, upgrading, or returning to service does not automatically restore lost standing or previous assignments.
Running the software does not guarantee that it will receive network work or that you will recover its operating costs.
BFT
The Network keeps its own accounting unit, BFT, which it records under its protocol rules. Soliton Group LLC does not issue, sell, hold, or control BFT and makes no representation about it, including its availability or value. Any amount the Network records may be delayed, changed, or zero, and may have no value outside the Network.
Permanent actions
Actions your node submits to the Network, including any records it publishes and any BFT it spends, are permanent and cannot be reversed, cancelled, or refunded by Soliton Group LLC.
Updates
Updates may add, change, or remove functions and may be needed for security, compatibility, or continued network participation. You are responsible for how you deploy updates and manage automatic restarts.
We may update this EULA. The current text and its effective date are maintained at Bigfoot Node EULA. Continuing to use Bigfoot Node after an update means you accept the updated EULA.
Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bigfoot Node is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Soliton Group LLC does not guarantee suitability for a particular purpose, security, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, or any particular result. Bigfoot Node and the Network may be interrupted, delayed, or unavailable at any time. You install and run it at your own risk.
Nothing provided through Bigfoot Node is legal, tax, financial, investment, or other professional advice.
Soliton Group LLC is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of or inability to use Bigfoot Node, including lost data, access, revenue, operating costs or other direct or indirect loss or damage.
