Article View

Read a page’s article as clean text, then return to the page just as you left it.

Using Article View

How do I open Article View?

Click the Article View button in the address bar while you’re on a webpage. The article replaces the page in the same tab.

What does Article View show?

The article’s text: its title, author, and site name, with its headings, paragraphs, lists, quotations, and links. Images, video, forms, and the page’s own design are left out.

How do I go back to the page?

Click the Article View button again. You return to the same page where you left it. It isn’t reloaded, and nothing is added to your history.

Why isn’t Article View available for a page?

Not every page has an article Bigfoot can pick out. When it can’t, it says Article View is not available for this page.

Is the article saved or sent anywhere?

No. Bigfoot keeps the article in memory only while that page is open in the tab and discards it when you leave the page. Article View makes no network requests of its own, and it works the same way in Private browsing.
